The Tromptown Marathon and Half Marathon run through DeRuyter, NY, some of New York State's most scenic and challenging courses. 2026 is the sixth year the marathon has run on its current schedule, added to accompany the area's long-running half marathon. The marathon and half marathon share their first 12.1 miles before the marathon continues on its own route, climbing a short "heartbreak hill" between miles 22 and 25. The half marathon route passes through three counties; the marathon's route passes through four, a rare feature organizers say may be unique among U.S. marathons.
