The XCelsior Marathon is run at Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage, New York, on a flat, paved course with views of Rockland Lake. Runners cover a 2.72-mile opening loop and eight 2.935-mile laps for the 26.2 miles, with one aid station at the finish. The course is USATF certified (NY21001JRG) and the race is a Boston qualifier. It is the New York half of the Bi-State Challenge weekend, run the day after the Zip Code 07662 Marathon in Rochelle Park, New Jersey.
