Race Info
The Potomac River Run Marathon and Half Marathon start and finish at Fletcher's Cove on the C&O Canal Towpath in Washington, D.C. The out-and-back course follows the Potomac River past a series of historic canal locks and is USATF certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The race is organized by the Safety and Health Foundation, a nonprofit that directs proceeds to charity projects including schools and a health clinic in Africa. It is one of three marathon and half marathon events the foundation holds each year as part of its Grand Prix series.
