Portugal Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, warming through the race
Starting at 64°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Temperatures rising to 75°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 70% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

The Portugal Half Marathon runs through Lisbon every October, starting on the deck of the Vasco da Gama Bridge and finishing at Praca do Comercio on the Tagus riverfront. The 21.1-kilometer course crosses the longest bridge in Europe, then continues past Parque das Nacoes and along the river into the historic city center. First held in 2000, the race carries World Athletics Elite Label status and regularly draws top Kenyan and Ethiopian runners. Hyundai has been the title sponsor since 2022; the race previously ran under different sponsor names.
