Hyundai Porto Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Warm start, steady pace recommended
Runners will face temperatures starting at 70°F and peaking at 77°F, with average humidity around 66%. A light crosswind at 10 mph may not significantly impact performance, but runners should stay hydrated and adjust their pacing, especially on the rolling elevations. The conditions will be toughest in the latter miles as temperatures rise, so a conservative start is advised to maintain energy.

Race Info
The Hyundai Porto Half Marathon runs along the Douro River in Porto, Portugal, each September. The course starts near the Freixo Bridge on Avenida de Paiva Couceiro, heads west past Cais de Gaia and Afurada, crosses back over the Douro on the Dom Luis I Bridge, and finishes at Jardim do Calem next to Clube Fluvial Portuense. First held in 2007, the race carries a World Athletics/AIMS label and has drawn East African winners in nearly every edition, including course records by Zersenay Tadese (59:30, 2011) and Enatnesh Tirusew (1:07:13, 2023). Hyundai has sponsored the race since 2019; organizer Run Porto also puts on the Porto Marathon and Sao Silvestre do Porto.
