Beijing Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, big temp swing
A cool 50°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 65°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Beijing Marathon has run since 1981 and is organized by the Chinese Athletics Association with the Beijing Sports Bureau and CCTV. It starts at Tiananmen Square and finishes at Celebration Square in Olympic Green, near the Bird's Nest stadium, passing Financial Street, the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and Olympic Forest Park along the way. The race switched to a marathon-only format in September 2015, dropping the half marathon and shorter distances it had offered for decades, becoming China's first marathon-only major race. It holds World Athletics Gold Label status and draws roughly 30,000 runners each year.
